Dr. Arnab Ray is a highly skilled and approachable specialist in anorectal diseases and their treatment. He completed his schooling at Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy Vidyalaya of BTPS Township and Hooghly Branch School. In 2000, he earned his Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) degree from the prestigious J. B. Roy State Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata, a century-old institution. He pursued postgraduate studies in Ayurvedic surgery at Government Ayurveda College, Nagpur, and later completed his doctoral studies at Rajasthan Ayurveda University. He also received specialized training in Panchakarma at the Central Research Institute (National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma), Cheruthuruthy, Kerala, and in diabetic foot care from the Indian Podiatry Association.
Currently, Dr. Ray serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at J. B. Roy State Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata. He actively participates in and presents research at national and international conferences focused on Ayurveda and colorectal diseases.
Dr. Ray's special interests include treating various anorectal conditions such as fistula-in-ano, anal fissure, hemorrhoids (piles), constipation, and pilonidal sinus. He is currently focusing on Ksharasutra treatment for recurrent, complex, high-anal, and complicated anal fistulas, as well as Panchakarma therapy for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He is also keenly interested in managing chronic wounds, including diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, and pressure sores (bedsores).
Dr. Ray possesses a deep understanding of current diagnostic procedures and treatment modalities for anorectal diseases. He prioritizes clear communication with his patients, ensuring they have access to the latest information about their conditions, and he believes in establishing strong patient-physician relationships.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Ray is a Rotarian and a dedicated family-man.
