Haemorrhoidal disease aka Piles is a very common anal condition. The most common symptom of hemorrhoidal disease is bleeding from rectum. This bleeding is mostly not associated with pain, fresh and comes out drop by drop or in spurt either before, during or after passing stool. Sometimes the person can notice evidence of bleeding on clothes or seat-cushion.
The earliest symptom of piles is bleeding per rectum with no mass coming out from anus during passing stool. But as the disease progresses, soft masses (the haemorrhodal plexuses) tend to come out during the act of passing stool which sometimes goes in spontaneously or requires finger pressure to regress.
In Ayurveda, there are four options available for piles' treatment. Oushadhi (the medicines), Kshara (the alkaline medicines for local application), Agni (Cauterization) and Shastra (the surgeries). These options are exercised as per the disease condition. If it is diagnosed in early stage, medical managment with some oral drugs or local applications is sufficient to treat the disease. Sometimes, hybrid methods like oushadhi-kshara or oushadhi-agni give very good result. In late stage, when the piles mass starts coming out, not even going back after defecation, surgery remains the only option.
Early diagnosis ensures cure with non-surgical treatment. Make sure to visit an Ayurvedic Proctologist on noticing the first incidence of bleeding per rectum.
